Hey guys, ive just got my OTS FM ME (it replaced a b luesmaster) anyway my c-lator seems to be adding more drive , a little too much regardless of the settings. Ive tried the suggested ones ie drive at 12 input at max and output as global master and when I hit my strings hard on the clean channel im getting some break up.

I tried alytering settings ie drive at 9 and input at 12 etc but still cant get it to clean up.

With the c-lator out of the loop and the amp on its own it will give me bell like cleans.

ideas?

Thats odd, because the bluesmaster dont react that way with the clator. Try Back off the drive even more and add more output to compensate for the volume.

Interested to see your thoughts on the differences between the BM and the FM

Mine doesn't add any drive at all, so I guess there's something wrong with yours?

Almost certainly something with the unit.  If I were to guess, it sounds like the tube, which would be a simple fix.  If it's not that, get a hold of Nik and ask him what he thinks.  He has a warranty guy in the US that you can ship the unit to and have it fixed for free.

I changed the 12ax7 in my Clator with a TAD and that seems to work pretty well. Only drives when the the drive is at about 3...

Has it always been like that?

Mine drives at around 3.  Seems like that's the fix.
