Title: Low end response mods...does anyone have any or know how to?
Post by: YourGuitarist on July 20, 2009, 02:41:42 PM
After playing the amp for almost a year I've come to really dislike the low frequency range of this amp.  I think that it could be warm without being flabby and "farty".  This is typical of all   fender style amps that I have played.

Does anyone have a mod that will fix this?

L

The lower freq of the whole amp or the OD channel?
You can always try lowering the coupling cap after V1b if you dislike the whole amp being too low and flubby.
If it's just the OD channel you can put a 0,047uF cap with a parralel 4,7MOhm resistor before the OD entrance(  before the 220k resistor which leads to the OD trimmer)

You could also install a deep switch... it will tighten up the low end. I use it almost all the time.

That's a smarter move than my previous post :-[

mcinku,

Don't you have some pix of that mod from your build?
