Title: Losing Wattage from Using 2-Cabinets Instead of One Common???
Post by: TommyTone on January 15, 2010, 05:50:37 PM
I went from using 1x12 cabinet at 8 ohm to two (2) 1x12 cabinets at 4 ohms, seems like I loss a little wattage- is this common??  I did gain some added headroom from my OTS 50-watt.

Thanks for your feedback!!!

what do you mean lost wattage? You gain headroom because 4 ohms is louder than 8 ohms, and for the obvious fact theres another speaker now. The wattage should stay the same but it's getting divided between 2 cabs instead of one

Just seems I'm turning my amp up at higher volumes since I connected two 1x12 cas instead of one.  Headroom definetly improved.
