Let me start off by saying that I'm not all that comfortable with poking around inside an amp but I can do some basic stuff.  Anyway, the OTS works perfectly but the power indicator light doesn't come on.  Anyone know if there is something simple I should check first on this?  Not a huge deal but would like to have it fixed.

Just replace it with an equal lightbulb (i think you can get it at nearly every electronic store).
You just need to a little bit.
Some here also got an LED for that I think...

The neon light that is in your OTS, does not have interchangeable light bulbs/ leds!
You would need to desolder and replace with a whole replacement lamp assembly.
I believe Nik is recommending installing a resistor in series with the lamp to make it last longer.
If you are not comfortable with desoldering and rewiring you should probably bring it to a tech.
I have seen mention of the replacement light being available at mouser, but I do not know what the part # is yet. You could use any light that runs on 6.3v but you would want it to fit in the same size mounting hole.

My light went out on my HRM as well, I will be replacing it eventually but am in no hurry.

I am almost positive this is the lamp to replace with.

Nik suggested to put a 47ohm resistor to one leg to run lamp cooler for longer life.

Sorry for a daft question but what wattage should the resistor be? Nik sent me a spare lamp for my amp but I haven't had a chance to put it in yet..

whoops I forgot one important word in my post:
"you just need to [solder] a little bit".
Yes you have to solder. but its quite easy. Had the same problem with mine too, was done in a few minutes.

Just was wonder if this was the correct light for the OTS.  This bulb at Mouser.com is rated at 6.0v, OTS calls for a 6.3v?  Thanks!!!
After 3 years my bulb took a dive today:-)

No sweat man! -I got my replacement lamp ages ago off Nik and I still haven't got around to putting it in yet Wink - thinking of trying Gregg's HRM bypass mod while I have the chassis out - just haven't had time with family stuff, work and (thankfully) gigs..
