How do I set up the output and recovery on the Kleinulator?

Input is sraightforward (I have a reverb with a level meter).

I'm waiting for mine but still my assumption is, you don't want to overpower PI tube, so basically what I would do, is to brig the output level to the same level as if you would not have Kleinulator in there.

Does that make any sense?

Yeah I would think you need to get the same level as you would get without the Kleinulator.
The problem is that the output and the recovery seem to work together. lowering or raising the recovery has an effect on the output level. So does altering the output pot.

Regarding the Klein-ulator, please try these following settings:
- Send = 3:00 (8 of 10)
- Return = 5:00 (maxed out)
- Recovery = 2:00 (7 of 10)

Its important to set the Return all the way up.  Its function is to prevent the Recovery stage from being overloaded by too hot of a signal from your effect unit.  In this case, just turn it all the way up.

I understood the unit made the series loop parallel. is this correct? In other words do you turn the reverb on full and use the Klien's knobs to blend it in with the dry signal?

This is a much better way to add effects to a guitar amp.

I don't understand why the Kleinulator was changed so much.
The public version I build had Send, Mix & Return with a Series/Parallel switch.
It works flawlessly except noise/buzz when an adapter is connected, but with battery no issues.
(My adapters are really not suitable, should buy a good stabilized one...)

As for now I use my Intellifex without Kleinulator, because there is a great analog Dry-path in
the Intellifex mixer.
I just build it so if I get a new/other FX unit I can use it directly.

My kleinulator doesn't works.

I solder a 9v battery plug on it to use it (I don't have any adaptator for the 9v Plug, and I have to build another 9v plug to change the one wich is actualy on the kleinulator).

The light of the kleinulator confirm that the device is working, but when I plugg the kleinulator in the overtone loop I have NO SOUND at all, no buzz from my cheap strat NOTHING. (send form the amp => input of the klein, return of the amp => output of the kleinulator, and send & return of the klein connected to my delay pedal).

I will send a mail to nik, maybe the kleinulator has been damaged by DHL...

Ok, I find the problem, one wire has been unsoldered (certainly because of DHL).

However I've contacted Nik and he's gonna send me the kleinulator's layout to know where to re-solder the wire.

Are they series only? I was absolutely planning on parallel.   ???

@all: do you use the bright switches on the Kleinulator?
it seems to me you need to use the bright switch if you want to get close to the orginal sound of the amp.

I have an amp with a series/parallel loop and for reverbs and delays it's the only way to go. Tha's why I was wanting that feature.

Be glad you know how to do that. I can't even solder a guitar cable.

I do want the Kleinulator in a 19 inch rack though. Level pots on the front of my 19 inch rack is a must.

Setting this amp up is harder then I thought. With hte Kleinulator it's even harder.
Maybe a bypass switch would hve been nice so you can do an a/b quick.

You could use a mini looper to do that.

Steven, go to radip shack and buy a soldering iron. Get some Kester 44 solder and start learning. Start with something simple like cables and go from there, you can do it.

  Don't feel alone, I live in Texas and there are probably more soldering irons on my block than cowboy hats.  But I have never used one.  Some of us just are techno challenged.  That why I'd rather just buy something and pop it on. ;D
