Hi Guys

Like most of us I'm constantly thinking about my guitar sound. I have a few days of and I was a/b testing with and without my my Klein. I came to the conclusion that the Klein takes away some of the high end mellows the sound, but somehow also levels the sound and takes away some of the characteristics of my instruments. Might also be caused by the added cables and fx. Not quite sure.

I use an Intellifex which doesn't need an fx loop and a Dynacord cls222 leslie which does need the Klein fx loop. I was thinking why not have the Dynacord moddified a bit so it works with the fx send and return of the Ceriatone. This way I would loose the Klein.

LOL no. I allready own a good espresso machine.
Seriously. I think the tube version is probably a whole lot better. but a fairly pricy option. (i'm avoiding the word expensive)

But do you need a fx loop to:
a. hook up fx?
b. alter your tone?
c. a bit of both?

if it's mostly option a., my " trick" would work. Lees weight. less cables less alteratiin of tone (only when I use the leslie)

Build yourself a real dumblator
Is your klein a DIY ?, if so then remove the 220p at the input of the 'send' FET and

Use either of the above alternatives in parallel instead of in series.

Hi!
I can't build anyting. I can't even solder a guitar cable. A friend of mine made a rack version of the Kleinulator (parts from Nik). (I only drilled holes etc )
I guess I could do some cutting LOL. what would happen if I remove the 220p?

The Intellifex is great cause it has an internal mixer. the clean signal stays analog and goes right through. The digital  effect(s) can be mixed in. So in that sense the reverb is kinda parallel. (obviously the Klein isn't)
I think I would like the Leslie to remaim serial though.

If your OTS sounds to mellow with the Klein in the loop try increasing master volume cap. Do you even use one?

If you don't have any cap in there try 33p.
If you already have one than go up to 47p.

Hi Steven,

There's nothing wrong with your point of view. The Ceriatone OTS is tweaked at a point it also sounds good without the Klein.
If you're concerned at keeping that tone maybe the Line selector from Boss might be helpfull; http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=150.

Recently I'm on a completely different track with the OTS. I'm modding my amp to a lot brighter puppy and  is unusable without my percolator(dlator). More the #124 way but with high plate resistors.
My homemade dlator is about 200 euro costs in parts and  12-16 hours building time. I can't do without it.
If Nik ever decides to sell he probably can do it cheaper...

Grab some coffee with me next friday?
