Title: Kleinulator 9v plug
Post by: Steven_nl on July 01, 2008, 06:35:55 PM
Hi
a small thing but I have the feeling the 9V connector of the Kleinulatir isn't standard Boss size. Is that right? I need to find a different plug/connector. 2.5 mm? Reverse polarity?

Cheers
Steven

Hi Steve...I emailed Nik awhile back.  I wanted to know if the Boss adaptor would work with the Kleinulator.  His reply "As for the Klein, the Boss style would work."

Steven, what connector did you end up using that fit it properly and had the correct polarity?
Thanks

I bought a 2,5 mm plug and a 2.1mm female plug and asked a friend to solder it. (Terrible that I can't do a simple solder job like that myself).

(I wish the Kleinulator was 19 inch)

So...a Boss style adaptor doesn't work?  Is the center pin neg. or pos.?

No standart boss doesn't work. Standart boss is 2.1mm and I think Nik's ones are 2.5mm.

No electronic shop around, I have to take a car and drive for about 45mins to find an electronic shop....

All you need is a 2.5 mm plug. Cut the 2.1 off of the Boss adapter and solder the 2.5 on. You should be in business.

I suggest the opposite, change the Kleinulator's plug

+1 Yes sir...this is a better option so you dont have to modify the adapter and the 2.1 plugs are more common.

UPDATE...Nik responded to my email and confirmed that he is changing the plugs to 2.1mm and they are negative center.

I have to contact Nik for a 1044S chip, mine has blow, and there is no electronic shop which can have it for me ....
