Title: Just got my Overtone - couple questions
Post by: Soundhound on March 14, 2008, 05:26:56 AM
I'm psyched.  ;D But got home too late to play it for more than a couple of minutes.  :'( Couple questions?

 - Is there a manual? Didn't find one in the box or online
- On the pedal the switch with the red light is to switch to the overdrive channel, right?
- The switch with the green light is a boost?
- Is the boost adjustable?
- Does the boost work in both channels.
- Last question, I swear. The footswitch works fine. But how does manual work? I flipped the two little switches in back for pre-amp boost and overdrive channel to manual, but then couldn't figure out how to either engage the boost or switch to od channel. must be something really obvious, right?

thanks!

- No manual.
- Red light is OD, Green is PAB
- Boost is not adjustable... but there are some mods possible to change things here
- Yes boost is on both CH
- well mine works like this...
for boost when is on pedal (switch) you can only use pedal to switch on/off, if you switch to manual the boost is on all the time
for the OD when the switch is on pedal you can use switch for on/off but without the footswitch when in pedal, the OD is ON and when manual the clean CH is ON

something like that

Now time for a newbie question from me....

What´s the 1-N-2 gnd switch at the back of the amp? What does it do?

I´m loving this amp by the way. I think I never enjoyed a new amp so much as this one. :)

1-N-2 is suppose to be a ground switch, which does nothing (at least with mine), it's not even wired. Nowdays we don't need the ground switch anymore but in the past it was not so.

I was thinking about wiring this switch for switchable primary PT voltage 120V - 220V, just in case I become famous and start getting gigs in the States  ;D
.... or even to choose between 220V - 240V.  ???

Hey Rui,

Good to see your diggin the amp.  Yes, that ground switch functions much in the way the re-issue Fender Vibroverb's ground switch does.  It does nothing other than add bling.

Cool, a switch that does nothing.  ;D

I wonder how many people could hear a difference if they were told it was some kind of a + - boost?
