Title: Is this part necessary? (OTS mini) Post by: WineCaster on October 24, 2014, 01:28:33 AM I'm populating my circuit board and noticed these "little black boxes" come with some sort of adapter/extension. Said boxes fit perfectly without the extension piece but will not if attached. Do I need to install this somehow?

Sometimes Relays fail and it's nice to have a socket there to just pull them out and replace them. Cut the leads on the adapter's that aren't being used and they'll fit in the PCB. Add a little dab of Rtv (Silicone) or Zip tie them so that they don't move or fall out.
