FYI - if I could get the OD sound Richie Sambora gets out of a Fender Tonemaster on the These Days album I'd be in heaven, but I long since gave up chasing that tone..!!
My two cents here!
If you are using pedals and need Sambora sound OTS is wrong amp to go.
I’ll suggest “Hay What” by Ceriatone but make sure to ask Nick to put in 6L6s instead of EL34s. You’ll LOVE IT!
I think I mislead a little bit there. I'm not looking to get the Sambora sound out of the OTS - I'm more likely to use it to find my own tone and it would be somewhere in the John Mayer/Matt Schofield area (both TR users, hence my interest in the OTS!!) who both use pedals in front of a clean D'type amp for their OD sound. My thinking is that if I have a TS808 in front of the amp and a different OD tone from the amp's other channel then that's 1 more OD sound than on a clean only amp.
Basically I want to know whether the HRM changes affect the clean sound (the answer seems to be "No") and whether the HRM OD sound can be brought close to that of the non-HRM OD channel?
Also, does anyone know whether the Two Rock Custom Reverb V2 is based around a HRM or non-HRM d'type circuit??
