Title: HRM Bluesmaster - Can I Put EL34's in it?
Post by: Animalboy71 on December 07, 2014, 11:39:16 PM
Has anyone tried this with the Bluesmaster? Can the trannies handle the EL34's? I keep thinking it will sound a little more marshally if I swap out the power tubes.

If anyone has any insight on  this I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

I had my tech do that to mine along with lots of other STUFF done to it (100 watt BM converted to a non-HRM Skyline "183"-ish style) . It really depends on the specs of the tranny you have, wattage and all that info. You should take it to a good amp tech and have that conversation. This is almost a TAG thing ;)

EL34s won't make the BM sound Marshally. The OTS series gets most of its tone from the Preamp circuit.
