Title: HRM 50 watt with C-Lator (TC electronics G-Major II In loop) problems Post by: Paul on August 01, 2013, 12:11:03 PM Hi
I'm new to the group. I have an HRM and I seem to be having issues with my C-lator tc combo. When I use just the amp it sounds amazing. But when I connect the loop stuff I am having issues with the sound. It sounds like it is causing an imbalance in the levels from the clean to overdrive channels with the over drive being lower, and even with low gain settings on the drive channel I get this weird mid range honk almost like a comb filter or a flange like sound with the filter off. i also get a squeal sometimes even with guitar volume down all the way. I put a new tube in V2 and changed out the tube in the c-lator. The c-lator had an ecc88 and I put in a 12ax7 and it almost seems worse. I bought the gear new pre built. All I did was put the tubes in the amp and biased it. I would appreciate any input you might have for trouble shooting this. I have the gain trim on the back set at 12 o`clock and the drive on the front some where around 5 or 6. I think the tube i put in the c-lator was a groove tube mullard style 12ax7 Thanks Paul Title: Re: HRM 50 watt with C-Lator (TC electronics G-Major II In loop) problems Post by: plasticvonaband on August 05, 2013, 01:43:52 AM i'd try the gmajor 2 in the loop with no c-lator. as far as i recall it has the ability to run in serial loops and adjust input and output levels and the impedance swing doesn't seem to bother it
