just wondering if anyone here has tried the overtone clean channel with a vintage fuzz pedal.
dallas arbiter, roger mayer, or somethig close like a fulltone 69. Undecided

Wampler ecstacy Pedal seems to work pretty good though. Nice addition to the medium gain overdrive of the OTS.

If you want that Keef tone on 'Satisfaction' then I guess using a fuzz in the clean channel is ok- personally I find a fuzz always works better into a mildly distorted channel- Hendrix & countless others did it this way and used the guitars' volume control to clean it up.  Recently, I'm finding I'm just using the OD channel more and more and using an old silicon Fuzz Face for thicker more retro tones or a Zendrive 2 to push the amp more for lead playing- then just using the guitar volume backed off to give me my clean tones.  I'm not a fan of squeaky clean anyway- preferring a more 'Wind cries Mary' tone.  Best thing is to experiment to see what's best for you...

yeah. I use a 1969 red arbiter fuzz face and a roger mayer guitar galaxy  classic fuzz for the hendrix stuff. usually through my 1968 marshall super lead. but at times I will use them through my fender pro reverb which is a bit cleaner. When turned up around 5 or 6 on the amp the fuzzes sound pretty good.
  I'm not a huge fuzz player, but I tend to do 4 or 5 fuzz songs per night.
  I havnt got my overtone yet so I wanted to see if anyone does that in here.

I plugged my Fulltone FD-2 Mosfet, my BB preamp, my Marshall ED-2 in the Overtone, and all sounded great too ! Specifically on the Clean Channel, as I said in some other post, my OD channel need some tweak to sound good (the OD is too bright and when I add a boost it get worse).

 I have tried a clone of the Dallas-Arbiter Treble Boost through the OTS. For some reason, that pedal sounds better through the OTS than any of my other amps. It certainly adds an interesting flavor to the OTS tone. I incorporate a lot of pinch harmonics in my my lead playing. Not ZZ Top or metal style but kind of a subtle and frequent application, especially with the Strat in the 4th position. Guitarists always ask me what type of pedal I am using to create that effect. I just show them the weird callus on the 1st knuckle of my index finger and my nail worn to 1/2 the normal size on that same finger. I found that the treble boost kind of enhances that effect with the OTS. I have also used my FullDrive 2 in the FM position/OD pos for lead breaks. It just acts like a transparent boost (the Comp Cut boost is too much). The FD2 OD & boost position adds too much for my band's style of music but it does add a very nice tone with almost infinite sustain for someone (Gary Moore?) who can use that style.

As an interesting aside...I can a get a tone very similar to the OTS with the FD2 in the vintage mode through my Super Reverb (and through a THD Bi-valve 30, although not quite as close) which has been my signature tone for the past several years. The OTS has more piercing high frequencies, but the two amps  sound identical in the lower register.
