Hello all and thank you for all the help!
Just soldered in last trim pot yesterday evening and then powered up, biased and then played the heck out of this amp.
Probably played for more than 4 hrs and can say this is the best sounding amp I've ever played. I heard these amps need to be broken in, if this amp sounds even better after 50 hrs playtime or so Im in for another treat.
I tried some effects and found I will need to get C-lator very soon though.
I like delay and reverb and without having the c-lator effects sounded awful in fx loop.
Tried delay in front of amp and its fine until you engage OD then it gets out of control.
Anybody has a kleinulator their not using anymore that wants to sell?

Cool, I was going to ask yesterday if you got it going. I would be there too, if it wasn't for still waiting for that part. Actually, I did order one from Antique Elec. Supply. Don't know which one will get here first. I know one thing the one I ordered will be here by next Mon or Tues.

I'm glad you like it. I started having "choosers" remorse earlier in the week after reading all the stuff here and ampgarage. I think a person can read too many opinions. I started thinking I should have ordered a different model. (non-hrm vs. hrm) Some of these guys have built many different versions of this amp and it's probably like a parent and their children, you love them all, just sometimes certain ones are more appealing depending on the day and personal taste. Cheesy It seems to me that it will be hard not to be totally thrilled when it's your first one.

So have you messed with PI yet? Interested in your findings.

Keep on playing! Smiley

I completely agree about this amp being my first born.
Funny thing is I was short 1 part also( PI trim pot ) and ordered one from Hoffman amps. It shows up yesterday and its half the size of the one I needed. The one I received was only rated for 0.1 watts. I was so tired of looking at this amp and not being able to tinker that I desoldered the FET trim pot and relocated it to the PI. Then I installed cheap little pot at FET. Powered up then biased. Then Rock and roll
BTW I only set the PI trim pot to 1/2 way and the amp sounds fine to me but eventually I may bring to amp tech to bring to spec just so I know the amp is sounding its best.
Also one thing that had me scared on startup was I had no sound coming from OD channel, it ended up being I had the OD trim Knob all the way down ( its also kinda like a volume knob ).

Soundperf I am one of the most inpatient people I know, but rest assured once you get that part in and fire her up you will forget about the waiting part and you will not regret your choice of amp.

Keep us informed
