Title: drive channel doesnt work
Post by: casken on August 26, 2012, 11:30:56 PM
I have a factory built ots about five years old.  Today i sat to play a bit stepped on the footswitcj for some dirt....red light on...amp went silent.  Switched it off and clean channel sounds gret!  I am no tech and will have to hire one.  However it would be nice to have an idea as to what would cause this.  I double checked all amp settings and it oughta sing.  Thank u in advance.

Tried it without the foot switch? Try making sure that the switch at the back of the amp for the foot switch is turned on. I've had to unplug and plug it back in to gt it going again in the past.

Bad tube? Dead v2 would cause this.

I appreciate the insights.  I was hoping it may be an inexpensive tube issue they are quite old and that certainly would be a possibility. I didn't know if that would be a sudden and total stop if a tube was responsible.   I will also check the footswitch.  Thank you again.

Will it hurt the amp to play it clean until repaired? Sorry for the embarrasing newbie question.

Bump!  Anyone?  I am a bit short of funds so it may be a bit before I can get it fixed.  Drive channel out for now.  Will it hurt to play the clean side until fixed?
