Title: diminsions of the overtone cab Post by: fred on June 22, 2008, 04:59:33 PM Hello, i shall start building the head shell for the amp tomorrow but i am not quite sure what dimisions to use so i will model it on the existing can but will probably make it taller.
So could one of the owners, if they know, please state the dimensions of the cab and any other handy hints to aid the build? thanks loads! Title: Re: diminsions of the overtone cab Post by: René F on June 22, 2008, 06:38:22 PM Hi Fred...
Wrote a email to nik about the diminsions of the overtone cab a while ago... Here is his answer Quote The chassis is 19 x 8 x 2.5" Your cab will be 21 x 9.5 x 10" or so. The opening would be about 19.5" or so, since there are screws at the chassis side walls. Let me know. Thanks! Nik Hope this will do Title: Re: diminsions of the overtone cab Post by: hywelg on June 22, 2008, 08:13:32 PM Have you got acces to CorelDraw by any chance. I've done a drawing showing all the various parts and tried to convert it to PDF but theres too much info on top of one another. If you haven't got CorelDraw any drawing package might be able to import it. Let me know and I'll send you my file.

Title: Re: diminsions of the overtone cab Post by: hywelg on June 24, 2008, 08:35:03 PM One tip when doing the top panel cutout. Don't make it too deep or the chamfer angle too sharp since it will make it more difficult to stretch the vinyl neatly. I would also radius the inside corner quite a bit to make it easier still.
Photo of mine shows the problem. I made the cutout 20mm deep and 15mm would have been better, and the chamfer should have been 10mm longer.
