dilemma  Undecided

got two 2x12" 8 Ohm G12-65 speakers and i can't decide how to wire them?

to series =16 Ohm, or to parallel = 4 Ohm ?

my combination is OTS with "oval back" 2x 12 cab, any recommends?

thanks in advance

I recommend wiring in series for 16ohms as this will engage all the windings on the O/P transformer - seems to result in a more even tone on my OTS & other amps I have...

Okay, this only applies to multi-tap transformers.  On a multi-tap transformer...the lower the impedance setting, the brighter the tone; the higher the setting, the warmer the tone.

So wiring the cab and using the 4-ohm tap will result in a brighter tone than using the 8-ohm or 16-ohm taps.  The 16-ohm will obviously have the opposite effect, the tone will be warmer than the 8- or 4-ohm taps.

This does not mean that all 16-ohm secondary output transformers are warmer tan all 4-ohm output transformers.  Once you get to single tap trannies, they can wind them to taste.
