I bought 2 Mullard 12AX7 RI's online from a store in Sydney a few weeks ago and the shop took forever to post them.

They sounded great when they were working but half way through a set on their 1st outing I started to get volume drops.

First I thought it was a dodgy lead and struggled through the rest of the night, got the amp home fired it up and nothing but a very week signal so I swapped out V1 and full glorious sound again, so its back to JJ's in V1 & V2.

I won't be buying another set  Cry

sorry to hear that.... i have installed many sets of them in various amps and had nothing but great sound and not a single problem. guess you were just unlucky this time. shops usually give some warranty on valves...2 months as i recall.

maybe they can replace it?

Also, did both go bad or just one? Just one premature failure on one tube might not be reason to dismiss them all together.

Though I do feel your pain. Having a tube go out while playing a gig is very upsetting.

As far as I can work out only 1 has failed and it was the clean side of V1 and it was with a band I mainly play in the clean channel only.
I will get in touch with the shop and see if they will replace it. Pity they sound great
