Title: Ceriatone HRM 50 and Ceriatone HRM 50 Mk2
Post by: ampegasaur on March 31, 2011, 03:28:38 AM
Can someone tell me the difference between these 2?  Kind of unclear.  I have a friend looking at buying  a used, what I believe, to be the first version.  Thanks.

Nik could probably answer this best!
I see alot of guys on this forum with the HRM but not too many with the MK2 version.
If anybody has the MK2 please chime in.
On the layout there are few differences I've noticed such as LNFB switch on the HRM and a few components values changed, but dont know what the difference in sound will be.

Well, the mk2 uses EL34's instead of 6L6's and has, what is refered to as the "precision power supply". There's no LNFB on V1 (first preamp stage). Also it comes stock with a Plexi output transformer not the OTS OT. On the layout in the "notes" area it starts to say something about "no snubber on" but never completes the statement. If it is refering to snubber on V2, the mk1 and mk2 are the same.

I guess it's sort of a #183 crossed with a HRM.
