I have a OTS S&M model built by Ceriatone. I am not trying to recreate a master piece, I just want a nice sounding amp that does what I need it to. My #1 challenge is that when I turn each of the Bass, Mid and Treble controls from 0>10>0>10 I don't get much effect from any of them. Most of the time the flip switches are Bright (up), Rock (up) and Mid Boost (up). At gig level I can't get any noticeable range at all. No, the PAB is not engaged. I'm not that silly. Perhaps it's value changes that move the bass frequency down more and the treble up. Maybe it needs to be more Blackface in nature. I am no expert technically and need help. Respectfully, a lecture on what "it's supposed to be" doesn't move me forward. I simply need to make this thing work for me, the way I see it. Some suggestions from technically minded people would be very helpful and greatly appreciated. Kind regards.

there isnt too much you can do about that problem. i think the easiest solution would be to get an EQ pedal which also gives you more control over what frequencys you can change

I do not have the S&M model, mine is the OTS 100 watt, and I did my own mods following a combination of traditonal fender values and original dumble values.  I originally had the J. Zucker mods and that sounded like cotton in my ears.  Pure midrange.  Now it sounds real cool.  I would try, in lieu of tweeks to the tone stack or anything, turning the midboost off and the bright off.  They seem to deffeat the purpose of tone knobs on my amp.  I have no use for them.  Also, this OTS tone stack has a lot of mids that funnel their way into the highs and lows  so it really isn't "super" responsive.  Try treb. bass. and mid. at 0.  Then turn your mids up first.  Then add treble and bass and listen for the changes.  That will be the jist of the range you will be able to get and its a good way to prep your ear.  I'm sure you will find what you are looking for, though.  Good luck.

REPLY: Respectfully, I am not a muppet nor am I deaf. I can also flip switches and turn knobs in combinations. Your time is appreciated but I am seeking "technical info" not pen pals. If you want to share your value changes, great. Much obliged.
