Title: C-lator owners.. bright switches.. Post by: cyndicate on June 11, 2010, 10:53:36 PM For the owners of the C-lator, I built the Ceriatone C-lator kit and I've been testing out my bright switches, for the left most one next to the drive, it seems when I switch the bright switch up, it sounds great, however with the switch down, it turns into some really harsh treble and loses most of its low end, is this supposed to happen in the down position?
My second one is just really subtle and with it either on or off makes no difference. Is anyone else experiencing this with their switches? Is this wired right? The left hand bright switch has a pronounced effect, and the right hand one is more subtle- tho noticeable, to my ears, it's similar in effect to the bright switch on the amp itself. If you think it sounds great without the bright switches on, don't switch it on- I believe they are only there to compensate for treble loss with long cables between the amp, *lator and FX. I'm not qualified to comment on your wiring, as I had mine pre-built by Nik. FWIW, I use the left hand bright switch, but installed a treble bleed on the OD channel to trim off the highs, this gives me a nice sparkling clean but smoother OD. Hope that helps. |
