I have read that the Bluesmaster sounds darker than the normal OTS in the clean channel (if bright switch, Deep switch, Midboost switch are not activated)?

Is that right?

And does the Treble and Presence controls effectively into the sound (clean channel and again Bright switch, Midboost swicht, ... are not activated) ?

I've never had problems with darkness on the BM.  Can you make it dark?  Yes.  Can you make it bright and sparkly?  Definitely.  There is a different feel between the normal high-plate and the BM, but I don't think it's something that can be easily described as dark/bright.  Also, I play humbuckers.

So here's a new question; Can you make a normal OTS dark? Even as dark as a BM on normal settings?  :'(

I played a High-Plate Skyliner not too long ago side by side with the Bluesmaster.  The main difference to me was that the OD on the Skyliner was just raging open.  Not compressed or even tight.  Raging! hahaha.  It wanted to feed back on itself with little to no effort.  I was able to set it up darker, not sure if I was trying to emulate the BM, but with the deep switch (actually mid booster in those, but whatever) and playing with the presence control, I could take some of the sparkle out.  I could safely say it could get as dark as a BM on normal settings.  That said, I prefer the BM for its cleans and I like the blackface inspired OD.  I'll be getting a Zendrive here soon, just to have other flavors of OD though.

I have never really thought of my BM as being Dark, per se. Bassy yes, Deep yes, Thick, hell yes,  but not dark. It can get dark if you use darkish speakers, but any amp can for that matter. I can make mine pretty dark by flipping on the Sag Simulation resistor Nik installed. It drops the plate voltages down on the preamp quite a bit, so it can get dark, especially at lower volumes.

I see. Sort of like huge sounding then as opposed to dark. It sucks cause I have the OTS.

Yes. The BM is a huge sounding amp. It is by far the biggest sounding amp I have ever owned.
