Title: Best Spring Reverb Pedal for Loop in OTS
Post by: TommyTone on December 01, 2009, 11:36:07 PM
I currently have a Kleinuator and T-Rex Replica in loop, but miss Reverb a little. I've had in the past (before OTS) a Roomate, though nice, no spring effect.  Been considering Fuch's Good Vibrations, T-Rex new reverb pedal, Spring Chicken, etc.

I appreciate any feedback and what has worked for others with my similar set-up.  Concerned about added noise and distortion.

Hi
I just bought a Boss FRV-1 '63 Fender Reverb pedal and run it in the loop with a Klein.
Pretty happy with it and it wasn't expensive and sounds very natural.
Cheers

how about:

I don't know if the spring thing is a major issue but I'd go for the Fuchs Reverbrator. it's atube fx loop and (digital) reverb in one.
Cheers

+1 1 the best. Does not change the tone and feel, adds great reverb, small.

I've not used it in the loop, but in line with guitar - the Spring Chicken was a little too over the top for my personal likes. Very springy... it that was a word. I guess very sensitive to the settings may best describe it.

I bought a Digitech Hardwire RV-7 reverb and it works great in the loop and in line. It has a good spring sound, but I really prefer plate reverb.

Has anyone tried the electro harmonix Holy grail (the one with the one knob and one switch) ?

Yes, its a great reverb, but I had to use a kleinulator/dumbleator in order to get good sounds.

I have a new favorite, which can easily be build into your amp:

It sounds great and price is ok.

+1  Very good and fairly cheap reverb. And easy to build if you know how to solder.

I just received today a Dr Scientist Reverbrator - like it a lot, as I prefer a slight Hall or Plate reverb for my sound - does the trick nicely, doesn't suck tone and works nicely even in front of amp.  Yes, not a true spring reverb, but gave me that little extra headrom I felt I was missing with OTS.
