Title: Anyone tried Boss TU-2 as splitter for dual amp set-up?
Post by: MajorDude on March 22, 2011, 08:54:33 PM
I'm planning on running my Bluesmaster 100 and Tweed Bassman LTD together at gigs using a Boss TU-2 Tuner to split the signal to the amps.

However, I've heard mixed reports regarding safety (of the amps) and earth hum problems. These pedals are buffered and designed to run two similtaneous outputs aren't they?

The switchblade is only an A/B pedal though, isn't it? I need to run both the amps at the same time

Are you running any effects?  A pedalboard?  Just curious, as two options for you may be 1) run a stereo modulation pedal like the Hardwire reverb or delay or Analogman chorus, or 2) Get a stereo pedalboard like the Furman.  I think you can find the latter used for about $150.

Startouch do a reasonably priced ABY pedal which I've used successfully before for a 2 amp setup - built like a tank & I didn't notice any pops or clicks on switching between settings..

Thanks for the suggestions guys, much appreciated.

I hadn't heard of StarTouch pedals before, they seem well made and at a decent price too, cheers

Pickmaster you said based on the RP100 200 system. Is it a modded digitech pedal or something?
I had an RP200 a while back that my dog pissed on and it fried, I then replaced with the Boss GT-10 which has the same features if not more, Minus whammy which I kinda miss.
Im not sure on the buffering inside either. Could you explain a little more about your setup using this pedal without C or K lator? In other words are you using the output level on the RP100/200 to match the send and return impedance from thge OTS?
Thanks and sorry for the rambling
