Anyone else not modding their amp?
I built my OTS 50 about a year ago now, and after initial setup have not taken that chassis out of the cab since.
Every guitar I have; Tele, Strat, Gibson's and Guilds sound great through this amp.
The only tweaks required are on the front panel IMO.

I've had my Bluesmaster 100 for 8 months now - using it with a Klein and happy enough so won't be modding anything - might get a c-lator at some stage & try & build it into the amp - I'll never get rid of this amp  Cool

I assume you're asking me...

I have 2 cabs, One with a Celestion Gold and the other with a Jensen P15N. Both AlNiCo.The Gold is my favorite, but together they complement each other nicely. Surprisingly the 12 inch Gold has more low end to it than the 15 inch Jensen.
 I am using just the amps effects loop(No C or K-lator) with a Strymon Reverb, and no other pedals.

Tubes: V1: Tungsol reissue
              V2 & V3: JJ
  Power Tubes: TAD 6L6WGC

For my BM50, the only mods I want are:
- rewire the deep switch the correct way up
- reduce the PAB level (add a trimmer)

For my OTS, I would be more critical:
- PAB is nasal on a strat, only seems to sound pleasant if bright switch is on, perhaps the bright switch itself should also change the PAB EQ to complement it??
- Deep switch is not a deep switch, it's a mid boost, and a bit too much - a trimmer for this, or rewire as a real deep switch
- maybe mimic the HRM in not having the master affect the OD output level, it's nicer to be able to whack up the clean master independently of the OD

Dr Tone Control, Strats mostly, prefer saturated clean tones, a little OD sometimes

Ax,

Love that Tung-Sol Reissue.  I'm running one in V1 and V3 with an Almost NOS RCA blackplate in the V2.  Now that is sublime, my friends.  EVM-12L + EVM-12S in a Hermida ported cab (just got this, world of difference).  With the C-lator, I am in ALL GOOD.

My OTS 50W is coming in a week or so.  I did have Nik make the 2 way switches 3 way for more flexibility and a MM Tranny but other than that I don't plan on anything.  Frankly, I have no idea what FM, Modern Eagle, etc even means.  I have read everything too and just get confused.  I say plug in and play and use the front knobs.  I don't know how you couldn't be happy.  OR maybe spend more time practicing on playing the guitar instead of tweaking your amps!  If you give Warren Haynes or Jeff Beck a shitty amp and guitar it would still sound awesome.  Why?  Because they are killer players with a lifetime of gigging and practicing

My Bluesmaster 50w is still almost completely unmodded - the only thing that's nonstandard is I installed the Deep switch correctly. Still sounds perfect to me more than a year later, although I don't really play it that much these days as I bought a really nice Mesa Boogie Mark IV which suits my playing style a bit better.

Some OTS owners have built their amps with the deep switches wired upside down, as some of the layouts showed it upside down. A few came from Nik that way, as the error wasn't caught right away, mine is one of them. In other words, down is on and up is off.
