Title: Re: Amp problem Post by: JD0x0 on August 16, 2008, 05:27:17 PM i changed the V1 and V3 tubes with no differnce in the problem :'(
Title: Re: Amp problem Post by: mcinku on August 16, 2008, 06:16:35 PM Are you aware that changing V3 tube requires to set the PI trimmer?
Really don't know what could be wrong... did you check if there's any cold solder on the V1 tube? I guess you will have to take your amp to a tech. ??? Title: Re: Amp problem Post by: hywelg on August 16, 2008, 11:31:09 PM Are you aware that changing V3 tube requires to set the PI trimmer? Really not necessary. I don't think Nik even balances the PI tube before sending an amp out, I think he just sets it to 12 o'clock. My amp tech set mine with a scope but said if I change the tube it'll be fine and not to worry about it. Title: Re: Amp problem Post by: nickm57 on August 17, 2008, 02:30:49 AM Tap your power tubes. They sometimes can rattle giving you a ghost note. Or plug straight into the power amp of the FX loop if you are still getting it there, power amp problem, if not pre-amp.
Title: Re: Amp problem Post by: JD0x0 on August 17, 2008, 06:56:10 AM the problem seems to have gone away. but thanks for your help everyone
