I can't happier by playing this amp! Carltonlish GASing is no more. Would like to know how all all brothers think about the 3 bands EQ of this amp? It's like very subtle with its,especially the mid,wondering there is any problem with mine. I try to hear the different between mid at 0 to 10,but sound like nothing treaked. Yes, the mids are quite subtle from 0 to 10 but I have found this to be the case with most amps based on the Dumble ODS circuit. You're not going to get fender scooped at 0 to massive mid push at 10. Set your deep and rock switches and adjust the tonestack to taste. So, I don't think you have anything wrong with your amp. After reading a lot of the reviews, it seems that a lot of people here like their overtones, but aren't quite getting the Robben Ford/Larry Carlton tones they were hoping for. While I realize that much of that comes from technique and fingers, it seems to me that a lot of that magic smoothness comes in the mids of an amp....does anyone agree and/or has this been addressed (in a mod or tone settings that a new owner might not know of?)

Here's how I see it in a non-technical way. The Deep switch... It really doesn't add in bass but rather gives the illusion it does by shifting the upper mids lower. In that sense it might be better to call it a "wild" vs "tame" switch. It also knocks a bit of volume off and assuming due to the mid shift the gain is smoothed a bit. Thus...good for a strat and Texas blues. If you mess around with the midcap values you will get different shifts as you move the base mid range. The Rock/Jazz isn't really worth talking about. Right now I'm sussing out how to add the mid boost switch mod in that spot. Some original Dumbles that were made with the "Deep" circuit, were converted by Mr. D to a "Mid-Boost" and I don't think the label on the switch was ever changed by Mr. D. So, Niki's amp is like one of these converted Dumbles.
