Hello everyone,

It's my first post (and topic !) on the ceriatone forum.

I'm currently waiting for a Overtone Special too (should come in 2 weeks I hope).

I'm actually looking for a 2x12 vertical speaker cabinet for the Overtone.

I've check a lot of builder here in Europe but there is nothing, and Two Rock, Fuchs etc are too much expensive for me.

I'm now looking for plan and schematics of a vertical 2x12 Two Rock type like this one :

or this one

If you can help to choose the best speaker for my utilisation of the Overtone it would be great.

I'm lookin for John Mayerish tone, with warm and sparkle fenderish clean, and smooth lead and I'm mainly using Stratocasters.

Thanks a lot

Regards

Nathan

I'm going to be making myself a vertical 2x12 to go with my OTS and I will probably be fitting two g12-65's. When I get the drawing done I'll post it here, but it will be a couple of weeks before I will get round to it though.

Nathan,

Welcome, sounds like you're looking for exactly the same thing as me, just you're a little further down the road than me.

Whereabouts are you cos I've been talking with a few builders here in the UK who might be able to build what you're looking for.

Speakers-wise, from what I've read the Eminence Red White & Blues might be a good choice, I've also been recommended the EV12L Classic... G12-65's are a popular choice, but I think I read something about them lacking some sparkle, so they might not be the best choice for the John Mayer tones you (and I as it happens) are chasing...

I was thinking about the same speaker.

My choice was between G12-65 and Red White & Blues, I think I will try those eminence !

I ask TubeTown in Germany (I'm french), and I ask them if they can make me a Two Rock type of cabinet.

They say yes but they need the schematic.

At this time this greatl user of the "guitariste.com" forum (a french forum) is making the schematics of the Two Rock Cabinet for me.

This guy has already made a custom order to Tubetown for a replica of the Matchless Combo Cabinet for his Ceriatone DC-30 and the result is just great  Grin !

Check out => http://img186.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0668lq1.jpg

The principal size of the Two Rock Cabinet is on their website (why I did not think of it earlier?) I give you the plans dices that possible if you want it !

After I got this plan, I can have a estimation from Tube Town, and if it's OK, I shoul order it !

Hey Nathan-
I am using a vertical 2X12 cabinet that I built myself with two Alnico Tone Tubbies. The top section is open-back which provides great dispersion and the bottom driver is sealed providing good bass output.
I am very happy with the range of tones I'm getting, actually had non-musician folks at a club gig comment on the tone...pretty cool.
