Title: Buffered loop on Overtone?
Post by: BGSoul on December 31, 2007, 02:37:39 PM
Hi!
I'm waiting for my Overtone Kit (its at the Swedish customs, they will rob me some $  :() I was thinking about the effect loop on the Overtone, its kinda simple unbuffered, and many people use a buffered loop with it. I am going to use my Skrydstrup Line mixer together with a rack effect. Have I use for a buffered loop when a use a line level mixer? Can I just put it in the Overtone loop?
Thanks for answers, and a Happy New Gear ;D

I found this site - http://www.blueguitar.org/ (http://www.blueguitar.org/) - with nice little amp circuits and mods.  It's not a Dumbleator but here's a simple active buffered FX loop mod one could probably easily implement:

http://www.blueguitar.org/new/schem/marshall/modnotes/ss_loop.gif (http://www.blueguitar.org/new/schem/marshall/modnotes/ss_loop.gif)

It uses a couple op amps, resistors, a pot, a couple capacitors and 2 DPDT switches.  There are also a few tube buffered FX loop mods on this site as well.  As with anything, your mileage may vary.  ;)
