Hello everybody,

i have a question regarding my JTM45 i finished building recently. The amp is really quiet and sounds pretty good on low to medium volume settings however if i crank it up to 11 the bass just dominates the allover sound, everything gets muddy and almost kinda fuzzy sounding. That is with bass on 0, middle and treble on 10. It gets worse if channel 1 and channel 2 are patched together.
I built the amp exactly to the specifications shown in the schematic that is attached to this post. The only things that arent as shown in the schematic are as follows:
- its running with 5881 tubes biased on 40mA at the moment
- choke is 3H

V1 is a mullard black label, V2 and V3 are JJ ecc83.

My first thought was to change the capacitor on the V1 cathode to a lower value to get a higher highpass frequency. What are your thoughts on this? Anybody got any other ideas?

Thank you in advance!
