Title: So, how do I use this my JTM45??
Post by: yagoo nana on October 03, 2008, 02:02:46 PM
Serious question, I just got my JTM45 and it sounds great.  And of course I am playing with different settings, but any tips on good settings would be cool.  Also, how do you jumper the channels?

Thanks

Also, how do you jumper the channels?

Plug into the High input of one channel.  And then run a jumper cable (instrument cable, a 6" cable keeps it neat) for the Low input of that channel to the High input of the other channel.

Try it both ways, plugged into normal High, jumped from Normal Low to Bright High; and then plugged into Bright High, jumped from Bright low to Normal high.  The two options will sound a litte different because the second channel of the jump is going to be attenuated since the signal comes out the attenuated Low jack of the first channel before continuing on.

Thanks, this seems a lot easier amp to get good tones from than I expected.  The amps I have used in the past always seemed tricky to get good tones from, the controls always seemed to interact with each other in somewhat unpredictable ways.

The JTM seems to do much what I expect, which is nice.

I may have to get an attenuator though :)
