Hi guys, I've been looking at niks gear for the last 12 months or so. I've decided to go with a JTM45 kit 1 to begin with. I am planning on changing caps to sozos, and will be using a set of trannies I'm trading with a mate for. any tips?

has anyone fitted  the Dana Halls VVR2 (powerscaling)  to this amp?

cheers

heyboer seem to be quite good too at a lower price.
if i build an amp i would really consider the sozo cap too Smiley
check for PEC (mil spec) pot, these should be good(but really expensive).
i would also set some sprague capacitor on the board(bias supplie cap etc)
and the preamp a F&T with CarbonComp resistor. and maby set better powertube socket.

If you make it this way, please make a clip Smiley, i plant on building something similar soon.

the metroamp instruction is something good to get.
and with MM trannies your sure it be right.

as for the tip, read well around amp building forum, there alot of info Cheesy
and take care as there is really high voltage involved into building tubeamp.

yeah it will be a couple of months before I start. I'm getting an unassembled kit 1 and be doing the lot myself. I have orderd a set of Sozo'z already and a vintage style turret board.  Already downloaded the Metroamps instructions. Grin

Luckily I have a pro amp builder to help me out step by step.

Has anyone used Marstran trannies in a build? They get a pretty good rap for Marshal style amps

Ok so I put it together, I ended up using a metro amps PT and  a Mojo (heyboer) O/T. Sozo caps. Shuguang tubes. had a feew misshaps but yesterday I fired it up. Got some nice tones from it in the 2 minutes it was on Grin still a few problems, pretty low output I think  Huh?.  has a kind of Rattle in it somewhere, Tubes get DAMNED hot but don't redplate .

has anyone got a voltage chart for these?  I have a couple from the JTM45 Yahoo group but I thought   if someone has a ceriatone one it might be handy  Wink
