Hello You All and thanks Kitarist, nice forum! Cool

I`m GAS:ing for JTM45, but have heard they are very loud amps! I play kind of jazz (with  acoustic instruments) and bluesrock (with band), so nice cleans means lot. My current amp is VOX CC2X - it does cleans very well but for bluesrock I can`t find that warm crunch/OD-saund I`m looking for even with pedals. Does PPIMV "eat saund"? It is (PPIMV) bypassable if turn it off/on? Does Nik do this mod? Speakers suggestions (2 x 12" or 4 x 10")?

nik kan do a MV. but it can kill some tone in a 45. it can muddify the bass a little. (try to decrease the V1 katode resistor to 25uf-3uf).

the 45 is warm amp. it's not that loud. to keep volume down: 2x10, 1x12 or 2x12

Bass is always a problem with a JTM45.

I have put a PPIMV in my JTM45 and never regretted it. I just 100k stereo instead of 250k tho. Helps to keep the bass tighter it seems.

PPIMV works very nicely on my new Ceriatone-based Jtm45.

My new cab has two Celestion Heritage G12-65's and they are sounding awesome at the moment - suit the amp very well to my ears.

Depends on the exact PPIMV, but the Ken Fisher (which is the most straight forward one) is out of circuit when on 10.

You mean muddify even when set to full blast? I'm having Nik installing a PPIMV on the JTM45 I just ordered, and according to him it's like it's not then when on full.
