Title: JTM45 - Good Choice For First Build?
Post by: AdrianJ on June 16, 2008, 08:32:58 AM
So I'm soon to place an order for a kit to have a go at building my first amp.

Is the JTM45 kit a good choice for a first build? I've never built an amp before, but have basic electronics understanding and am competant with a soldering iron.

I understand that Nik's kit don't come with building instructions, is there an online resource with any guides to building the JTM45?

Also, just so I can be sure I have all the right tools, and since my old ones are getting close to needing replacing.... Could someone please list what tools I'll need to build the JTM45...

Thanks

Okay, so I found the instructions over at Metropoulis Amps for assembling their JTM45 kit. Will these be the same as for Nik's?

JTM45 is a good choiche, except the JTM45/100. there some mroe work on it.
some may like 18 or 36 watt. i think these are easier am not sure, and they are less loud.

the metroamp instruction are a good guide
these wont be exactly same, you still need to follow nik's layout, but the instruction may help alot.
