Title: Tubes for 2555 Post by: ducblancpale on July 23, 2009, 05:44:06 PM Just got this amp and its running through 2 x G12-65 speakers mounted in an open cab. Any recommended settings and tubes to improve the tone? I find it abit lacking in the gain department and its not as crunchy as I expected it to be.

the settings I use are presence 4-5 bass 9, mid 7, treble 4, output master 10, lead master 3-4 , input gain 4 for humbucker or 6-7 for single coil if you check the prevoius thread about 2550 mine is the last clip you will hear those settings . ps reverb or delay in loop greately helps this amp shine also g12m or EVM 12Ls are good. . it will take time to get used to the sound of this amp. good luck. Title: Re: Tubes for 2555 Post by: ducblancpale on July 26, 2009, 04:38:15 AM When you crank up the output master and control the playing volume through the lead master, are you overdriving the power tubes or the preamp tubes? I was doing it the other way previously that is cranking up the lead volume and controlling the playing volume through the output master. Maybe that's why it didn't sounded good?
