I want to upgrade my JCM800 combo with a PTP board.  Has anyone here dropped a Ceriatone board into a Marshall chassis?

Does it drop straight in do I need to drill the chassis, modify the board etc?

Any experiences that you can share would be appreciated.

Thanks,  John

I gotta ask, "why?"

If it's an original JCM800 then it'll have the much desired Mustard caps and other components and is a really well designed and thought-out PCB.  And if it is the kind that does not PCB-mount the pots and jacks, then it's a PCB design that is nearly as easy to work on as any turretboard.

This isn't the same as comparing the complex, cheap component PCB Deluxe/Twin Reverb RI's with their fiberboard counterparts.

The only reason i could see swapping out the PCB in a JCm is if you want to do a lot of home modding.  And then I would save the original PCB for restoring for selling.

i also want to do this, i want a hot rodded JCM800 2204 but want to take out and save the original board so if i ever want it stock, i just put it back in.
has anybody done this? BTW, my amp is a combo version 2204 (model 4010) does nikĀ“s 2204 board fit the turret studs?

Hi,

Not sure if all JCM800s have mustards in them, dont think all of em do, actually.

If your board has ST202 Issue 1 (or was it ST1 Issue 202) stamped on it, then my board would be direct fit.

Thanks!
