Title: 2204 Output Transformer assembly question Post by: ChadFunkRailroad on April 05, 2012, 02:45:36 AM Hi All,
I have a 2204 minus the trans. and tubes from Nik, and I need some help with hooking up a few wires of the OT. The ohms leads to the ohms selector, I got that, but the other three wires (red, brow, white) I'm having a hard time with. It is a Mojotone OT. Also, the choke has 2 wires, black and red, there is no indication of polarity.? thanks for any help chad the blue arrows/marks are my choke solder points (polarity?) the red arrows are my OT solder points (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/chadbrannan/AAAJCM800_2204wiringquestioncloseup.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/chadbrannan/AAAJCM800_2204wiringquestion.jpg) Title: Re: 2204 Output Transformer assembly question Post by: wyatt on April 05, 2012, 04:18:35 AM Here is the OT's specs...Brown is the center tap. White goes to V5 (the EL34 on the end), Red goes to V4 (the other EL34).
http://www.mojotone.com/site/images/pdf.gif While, it is *not* impossible for a choke to have polarity, or a rectifier-facing end (higher insulation), typically in these days, there is no polarity, especially if not marked on the choke. I will add an unsolicited comment that this is a red flag that you may want to have a tech do this. So white goes on pin 3 of the V5 and red goes to the pin 3 on V4 and brown goes to HT fuse 0.5A T and on the choke there is no polarity. Ceriatone Brown=Mojotone White Ceriatone Blue=Mojotone Red Ceriatone Red= Mojotone Brown Ceriatone is using traditional American color coding (Fender, Gibson, and others had the Brown Red and Blue wires), Mojotone is using the traditional Marshall color code. I should also point out I had a typo above it should have said "while it is *not* impossible for a choke to have polarity," it does not in this case.
