Can't help too much, but Nik has the shipping prices by weight on the Ceriatone site. And I know somewhere online Canada has the import duty rates for all countries.

I got mine in '06. It was a 36w (still my #1) and shipping to AB was like $150 I think?
I was expecting the usual ransom charges when it arrived.
It was handed to me, don't even think I had to sign anything and the guy left. I was left standing in the doorway with a heavy box in my hands and a :-O

I expected I would get a future bill in the mail. Purolator used to do that. Nothing ever came. To this day I still wouldn't be surprised to get a bill but it's been 7 years. Probably safe now.

I don't know if it's still like that but...
I buy and sell a lot of gear. If you check CSB's site you'll find that there is a "6% duty on musical instruments". I'd imagine if it was made in North America there would be NO duty? NAFTA

Normally Asian goods have pretty high duty. I don't know if an amp is a musical instrument. There would be 5%GST too and maybe PST? No PST in AB so I don't know. And then brokerage and maybe fuel surcharge and stuff.
Everyone charges different amounts for brokerage. UPS often is 45 bucks ..grrrr USPS/CP..like 7 dollars?

So...I suppose you could expect to pay 5% GST, whatever PST in your province, 6% duty if it's a musical instrument and then a brokerage fee. I'd assume $50 just so you aren't too shocked.
Expect to pay all that, HOPE not to and...just be ready to shell-out like $150 if it's a thousand dollar amp. I have a funny feeling you wont have to pay anything. Fingers crossed.

I live in Vancouver & have bought a few amps from the States. If it's made in the US there isn't ANY duty on it.

If you buy your amp from the US Ceriatone site you might avoid paying duty as well.

Don't quote me on that though, lol.

Officially, you still pay duty. You pay duty according to country of manufacture, not country of sale. That may depend entirely on what the mailing label says (country of origin is part of it) and how carefully they look over an item from the States. From the days I lived in Vancouver, packages to and from the U.S seemed to draw far more scrutiny that anything I got from Europe.

That's right, Country of manufacture, I had forgotten that part. That leads me to another question, are the Ceriatones purchased from the US site manufactured in the US????

Either way I've got my eye on either the SSS or one of the Overtone Specials. It's all I can think about lately lol. Which one do I get? Can I get both? Should I get both? Can i afford to? Does that matter? lol

Cheers

No. They are ordered and delivered from Malaysia.

What do you want?

The Ceriatone SSS is based on the Dumble model #004, which is the simplest of SSS circuits. In many ways it's similar to being the clean channel from a OTS with added reverb and inductor-based Hi and Low filters.
