Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: radiohead, lol on October 31, 2007, 01:36:53 PM That snakeskin cab is crazy :)
I've only got a cab for one of my ceriatone's so far, and another cab being built, but here they are anyway. 5E3 tweed deluxe combo (don't have the cabinet at the moment) (http://unofficialmusicsite.com/pics/gear/amps/ceriatone5e3.jpg) JTM 45 head with a reason cabinet (http://unofficialmusicsite.com/pics/gear/amps/ceriatonejtm45.jpg) I don't have any pics of my super bass at the moment, but I'll get some soon when the cabinet for it gets here. I'm having an expression and a BF champ built at the moment too. Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: Kitarist on October 31, 2007, 02:04:54 PM you guys are making me all wet... lol

Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: mcinku on November 02, 2007, 06:48:57 AM You built the cabs yourself? Very good woodwork ;) I had a lot of help from my friend. He is the wood guy, I was just a errand boy. ;) Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: poipounder57 on November 02, 2007, 08:42:57 AM Very nice!!!
Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: radiohead, lol on November 03, 2007, 05:05:59 PM poipounder57, I have two questions if you don't mind.
Did reason custom build the cabs for you, and did you have trouble installing the chassis with the expression? (I read that some of the new chassis have issues with the transformers getting in the way of the part which you attach the back panel to. hopefully I won't have to rip those off my cab to fit the chassis in. Oh, and those are some NICE cabs mcinku ;D How did that 6L6 mod change the tone on the 5E3? Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: poipounder57 on November 03, 2007, 06:45:45 PM Yes the cabs were built by Reasons...nice work and great price. I did have to remove one side of the brace that is used to secure the back panel. I carefully peeled back the tolex and used a little wood chisel to get under the brace...I carefully removed it from the cab. After installing the head I replaced the brace back onto the wood staple and added some glue and secured with a clamp and let it set. Looks good as new:-)
Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: mcinku on November 03, 2007, 07:35:42 PM Oh, and those are some NICE cabs mcinku ;D How did that 6L6 mod change the tone on the 5E3? Thanks for a compliment, I like this old retro style. ;) How did 6L6 change the tone? ??? I actually don't know. I never used it with 6V6. All I can say I love how it sounds with 6L6. ...but I should also say I installed the Vol/Tone Mod from Bruce and it fits me perfectly. You will find my clips in the 5E3 clip section. ;) Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: radiohead, lol on November 03, 2007, 08:09:36 PM Yes the cabs were built by Reasons...nice work and great price. Don't want to sound insane, but who wants to post pics of their amp's guts? Here are mine.. the super bass (the cabinet is still being built): (http://unofficialmusicsite.com/ampz/sbfront.JPG) nicely put together... (http://unofficialmusicsite.com/ampz/sbtop.JPG) big transformers, SED winged C EL34's, etc. Lovely :) (http://unofficialmusicsite.com/ampz/sbback.JPG) Yes, it says super lead, but Nik didn't have a super bass plexi panel cause this was a custom order. No problem of course. (http://unofficialmusicsite.com/ampz/guts1.JPG) Very neatly done. (http://unofficialmusicsite.com/ampz/guts2.JPG) more guts. also, I'll post the tweed deluxe and JTM 45, but I'd say this is the most impressive. Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: poipounder57 on November 08, 2007, 06:03:47 PM Nice!!! How does it compare to the JTM45? I've been gassing for a 45 this past couple of days ;D
Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: radiohead, lol on November 09, 2007, 01:45:47 AM Get one ;D
Haha, well, the SB is louder (obviously) and more aggressive. Channel I is a tad less bright compared to the JTM, but channel II is pretty much the same. Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: ChrisL on November 09, 2007, 01:59:39 AM My fillings in my teeth are getting loose just looking at that thing. What a monster....ear plugs should come as part of the kit....lol. Nice.

LoL...I almost swallowed my chewing gum ;D Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: Kitarist on November 09, 2007, 07:13:05 PM Hahah lol
Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: radiohead, lol on November 12, 2007, 04:02:33 AM Indeed, it is extremely loud. I bought a weber attenuator for it, just waiting for them to build it.
I am having some trouble getting good amounts of headroom out of the bright channel though...not sure why. I can't seem to crank it up past 2 without it getting all saturated. The normal channel is fine, though. I might have to check the bias again, I warmed it up a little for the 6CA7's I previously had in there and didn't cool it back down for the EL34's. Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: poipounder57 on November 29, 2007, 09:16:43 AM Get one ;D Haha, well, the SB is louder (obviously) and more aggressive. Channel I is a tad less bright compared to the JTM, but channel II is pretty much the same. Well Radiohead I took your advice...I have a JTM45 ordered :chairdance: After reading all the great feedback I couldn't fight my GAS attack...I got it really bad ;D Hello my name is Poi...and I'm a ampaholic :donate: Please help ;D Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: radiohead, lol on November 29, 2007, 09:30:02 AM Haha, awesome ;D
Did you get any optional features? (impedance selector, master volume, etc) I recently retubed my JTM 45 and biased it (it was actually biased quite cold before) and it's sounding even better. I am going to order a super lead (or a 1987 lead, not sure yet) sometime because my super bass isn't doing too well. It just doesn't sound that great anymore...how this happened within a few months I don't understand, but I plan to just rebuild it myself with some other parts. Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: poipounder57 on November 30, 2007, 03:06:58 AM The only add on was the external bias point and pot. The impedence selector is no longer a option...comes with it when ordered. Wow...bummer on the Super Bass. Maybe just bad tubes?
Next year I'm going to order me a kit amp...I'll start with something easy and work my way up. Hopefully to a Overtone ;D Good luck with the amp!!! At the back I have a switch for switchable bias, so I can use 6V6 or 6L6 for more power. ;) Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: radiohead, lol on December 11, 2007, 05:47:16 PM Cool
Roughly how much more power would you say it has with 6L6's? Title: Re: Here are my babies:-) Post by: mcinku on December 11, 2007, 06:55:31 PM Cool Roughly how much more power would you say it has with 6L6's? I'm guessing here but I would say 8-9 maybe 10W.
