The actual poplar cabinet he built for me appears near the end of the post. He is very familiar with the chassis' that Nik makes. The fit is verified and confirmed.

As for cabs...Reason Amplification (I think they're called rhyme cabs or something now) makes great cabs, but their website seems to be down. although, the reason cabs have had issues with the transformers hitting the part the back pannel attaches to. so you might have to take those off. Title: Re: Kit vs. buy Post by: Weathered on October 31, 2007, 03:41:17 PM Trainwreck stuff tends to run right on the edge of where it can, so if you're not familiar with troubleshooting amps (oscillation, weird noises), it can be a bear to get it working right.

It did not explain whether star topology grounds could be used, etc. Unless you have worked with 400 volt circuits before I'd recommend not building the amp.

Head cabs can be sourced, home build or check out the custum built cherry wood drawers from WoodCraft.com that many of us use to build your own head cab from if your are not good with saws. Everything you need can come from Nik (parts) or buy completely built or build your own. |
