Hey guys,
Just a little background, I'm a marine electronics tech and I have also built my own distortion pedals, including one I designed, the BSIAB2.

I got a really killer sounding guitar cabinet, a Marshall 4x10 1965A. It's a really nice portable cab and it sounds great. Only problem, it's 24" wide and the small-box Marshalls are 26" wide.

So I was looking at other Ceriatone kits. What other amps, preferably in a smaller box, would you recommend for a nice bold sound, good character that takes pedals well? I have an 18w River-era Fender Super Champ that will fill the bill for now but I'd like at least 30 watts. I like a tight bottom end and punchy dynamics that make you want to play.

Actually you can get a Plexi 50 chassis into a smaller box than Niks. The chassis is actually 471x 176mm so you could get a smaller shell made.  My box ended up about 550mm x 230mm.

the ultra champ is a great amp in a small package and it's easy to build. IMO the OTS amps are Nik's best sounding amps, though they are more complex. The OTS wont even need pedals (it takes them very well) but the OD on the amp is phenominal. all it needs is reverb/delay, i like a little compression too
