Greetings folks - new to this forum, been reading a bunch of posts.

Just got a DC-30 combo, sounds really good, I'm just starting to figure it out.  But I can tell that I could make use of some of these mods that many of you mention.

So from what I gather, there is the VVR from Hall, and there is the Power Scaling unit from London Power.

Are these essentially doing the same thing?  Which, in your opinion, is better?

This amp is a new direction for me, and I'm glad to see there's a forum of folks who seem to enjoy helping each other find new ways to get different sounds.

Be well,
-HS

They all do the same thing, lower B+ voltage while maintianing filament votlage; though circuits may vary, they should all have the same performance.

Kevin O' Conner was the pioneer on this and  he still has a trademark (if not a patent) on Power Scaling and has licensed it to several different amp companies and used to license it to aftermarket add-on makers as well.

The other very, very popular option is the SkipZ Circuits Vari-Watt.

And Maven Peal offers one.

Pick the one that has the price, mounting and features requirements that suits you best.

Very cool, thanks for the input!

That VVR appears to be the simplest install.... maybe?

more annoying newbie questions coming soon...
