Hi,

Just a bit curious...  What is the point of the resistor / capacitor combination on the standby switch on the 2010 DZ30 layout?  In the "on" position it simply makes 100% continuity between Y & X which is what you'd expect of a standby switch.  In the "off" position it appears to only slightly limit the current... 


I don't doubt the authenticity of this circuit. I just don't get it.  Can someone help me understand what's going on here?

This wasnt in original DC30 and nor would be the diode protection on the GZ34.

You can eliminate the resistor on the stdby switch. This was done when I was updating for the GZ34.

The resistor is part of DC protect for the switch, it's not needed

And, indeed, when in stdby, you do have abt 60-70V in the amp, which would make it play still altho very low vol.

So you can eliminate it.
