Title: Mallory or Sprague PS? Or Auricap? Post by: toneman on December 05, 2007, 07:51:27 AM Hi everyone,
I noticed that my Ceriatone HC-30 comes with Mallory and they sound great with the Mallory. But I'm a big fan of guitar & effect mod and I love the Sprague orange drops. I also see that some of Ceriatone clones comes with Sprague 716Ps while the others Mallory.(Is there a reason for that?) I'm not an expert in tube amp that's why I ordered mine built and shipped by NIK.(to save myself from being electricuted) But does anyone out there could give me a pointer if the C-30 would sound better with the Mallory or Sprague Cap? Don't be fooled by your own conviction in justifying significant expense in replacing components, because you will surely tell yourself that the investment does sound better .... are you really sure it does?
