Title: Lightup faceplate Post by: Nickp on August 27, 2009, 04:28:20 AM I've found the combo cab I like but I was wondering if anyone has done the lightup faceplate like matchless and badcat does... I was also wondering if that can be run off of the amp or if you have to install some voltage regulator?
Any help on places to locate a faceplate and lighting stuff would be great.. Thanks all Title: Re: Lightup faceplate Post by: wyatt on August 28, 2009, 05:20:06 AM They run off the same 6.3VAC heater current that runs the pilot lights on other amps.
Title: Re: Lightup faceplate Post by: Nickp on August 28, 2009, 03:33:25 PM So I'm safe to tap off of my pilot light?
Title: Re: Lightup faceplate Post by: wyatt on August 28, 2009, 09:45:12 PM Sure, on a real Matchless, the light up faceplate is used in lieu of a pilot light. Just double check current draw whatever you use. Instead of one bulb on the chassis front, they wire in several inside the chassis. here's a pic, notice the three lamp fixtures in the chassis (same kind of bulb)...

I had a badcat hotcat 30 and the lights were different but useing the standard pilot bulbs is much easier to wire up, I just ordered a lighbox from matchless I had my own logo done, It should work great Title: Re: Lightup faceplate Post by: dmask on November 01, 2009, 05:16:03 AM Believe it or not, I called Matchless and just asked to purchase the light assembly with face plate. It cost, I think $50. It looks great. Lights up beautiful
