Title: A/B/Y
Post by: jimi23 on September 25, 2009, 12:48:33 PM
Does anyone play their DC30 with an A/B/Y pedal?

Interested to see how it sounds running both channels at once and if there are any phase issues or anything.
I havent got my dc30 yet, still saving but I would like to know if you can get usable sounds running both channels at once

Yes I run mine with an a/b/y and its worth doing just for the flexibility of channel swapping. The 'y' is just a blend of the two and I haven't noticed any serious phase effects, though the two channels are out of phase with each other. I also don't notice much of a difference when I flick the phase switch either.

Incidentally   can recommend a good A/B/Y switch?  mine is very cheap and is playing up with a dodgy connection.

Hywelg-

try  http://www.redonionsolutions.co.uk/AB.htm - just bought one on eBay- haven't had chance to try it yet- will give a report asap- but avoid the obvious cheapo's - they tone suck badly... Boss, ART are well the known culprits!

Red onion also make a transformer isolated version- a MUST with multiple amps...

Thanks Mitch, looks promising. The ART I have is a simple passive switch, no tone lost at all, its just not robust enough and i keep getting bad connections.

I'll email RedOnion for a quote for an A/B/Y with isolation transformer then I've got all bases covered
