Don't know if you are looking at this anymore. But in case someone else would see... Have you tried putting a clean boost in the effects loop? By doing so you push only the power section to work harder/play louder, not the preamp to increased gain. There is a huge difference there! At least in the amps I have tried it on. Cheers! I put a BOSS FB2 (feedbacker/booster) in the loop and it worked great. The Boss is a clean boost. It doesn't add gain, just volume...with some tone control. It acts just like another channel. I could not be happier with this. |
