Title: Best Phaser pedal
Post by: Tone Control on October 22, 2010, 08:47:55 PM
I rarely put pedals between me and my nice amps.
However, sometimes it's fun to use FX for a change or for a specific sound

I find it really hard to get pedals that don't completely wreck the tone of any good amp, even when switched off

A few have true bypass, but even then you need to be sure the effected sound is not messed up

Anywaym I feel like playing with a very light phased effect occasionally

Any recommendations?
It needs to not trash the tone when on, and do nothing when off

i am currently using the Biyang range of pedals

they are as good as anything out there... and not expensive.

they have taken the best of whats out there and made some pretty good clones....in particular the x-drive, reverb pedal, delay, and chorus

and i also use the phaser... classic 70's sound

check them out you will not be disappointed

I could only see this brand for £40+ in the UK,
which for a Chinese brand with no reviews, no history, no anything, looked like paying s/hand BOSS prices for a new copy of an unbranded model,
so sorry I won't risk it.

In the end I bought an MXR Phase 90 Script 1974 reissue. Shame it has no DC input, but it sounds good, not too swirly, just right

Cheers
