Title: Using both speaker inputs
Post by: dyna on May 25, 2011, 02:08:56 PM
Just recieved my Ultra Champ. Sounds just great!
If I want to use two 8 ohm speaker cabs, connecting them using both
speaker inputs, should I swith the selector to "4 ohms"?
Thanks
Lars

Yes
The speaker outs are parallel
when 2 speakers of same rating are parallel the resistance is cut in half
When in series the resistance will be the sum of the 2

Ohms law

Thanks Todd, thats what I thought.
So, one 8 ohm speaker + another 8 ohm speaker in each output means
4 ohm on the resistance selector.
Just want to make sure I don't damage anything...
Thanks,
Lars
