Its the vibrochamp with a tweed voicing switch.

USD25 more than the vibrochamp and other champ variants. But I think its worth it!

And also has a new milky faceplate with red text.

Very classy.

Only gripe is the combo cab, I prefer to have the controls facing the front rather than top.

Yes I've seen that, looking good... I wish that faceplate and chassis would  be available when I was buying mine.

Have you got around to putting a 6L6 into the champ?

How did it sound?

Any mods required to fit in say a KT66?

Yes I'm running 6L6 right now.
To me is sounds a little bigger with more low end... a few more W as well.

Not sure I don't know what is the spec of KT66.... I think you better ask Nik.  Wink

How long can the champ stay clean?
With 6v6 or 6l6, thanks.

Well it's about the same... but with 6L6 it will be a little louder.

I have blakeface type knobs and I would say when I reach 7 it will start to break up... with SC guitar.

I see, can it keep up with accompanying a piano or organ at clean levels?

It'll probably be miced up into a PA, but I'd at least need to monitor myself.
The amp will be placed around 4 metres away from where I'd be standing.

Man that's tough to say... first of all, I never used it in live situation... just home use, so I'm not really credible to say anything

...but I guess it would depend on the speaker/s used... if you have an efficient 12" speaker, it would do much better than a small 8" one.
One more thing... my champ is much more louder than my friends vibro champ... didn't really investigate why... but my point is, different champs might perform differently
I know for a fact people are using them live, so....

sorry for my vague answer

Haha!

Thanks though mc, sorry to put you in a spot. It's a tough situation trying to figure out which amps to buy from Nik.

I just received my Champ Ultra kit and am embarking on my first build.  Are there any modifications required to use 6L6s or can they just be plugged in to the existing circuit?  Thanks guys.  It is really good to know you will be here to talk with after my first near fatal electrocution.

I use the tweed champ from Ceriatone with a weber alnico sig 10 inches speaker.  My playing situation is this: Drum machine, keyboard, bass, 3 singers, one other electric guitar and one harmonica, all those in a P.A. and quite loud, probably not as loud as if it was a real drum but...

I am the only one not in the P.A. and my amp does the job, I use a Fender strat with 3 single coils. Most of the time, this is only for practice but we do a couple of shows a year and everything goes well.
